Niamh C - World Champion Rower

Niamh C in our departing Year 13 (pictured bottom row right) was selected to represent GB at the World U19 Rowing Championships. Niamh raced in the JW8+ and after a very dramatic final in Paris on Saturday 5 August, in tough conditions they won gold, becoming the World Champions. Huge congratulations to Niamh on becoming a world champion, the first Putney pupil this century to achieve this as a rower. Niamh goes on to Duke University, USA this autumn on a Rowing Scholarship.

Eleanor S - Commonwealth Youth Games

Eleanor S (pictured mid air!) was selected to represent Team England at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago from 1-14 August. She was selected as one of 59 of England’s most promising young athletes to head for the Caribbean. An incredible opportunity for Ellie and we look forward to hearing how she got on.

Mabel-Rose S - Athletics

Wonderful to see Mabel-Rose S (now in  Year 12) have a fantastic experience wearing her first England vest, part of a wonderful team and gaining a hard earned silver medal in her first Schools International Athletics Board (SIAB) international event.

Gabriella McH - National Youth Circuit Racing

Gabriella McH (now in Year 11) has been training for and competing in both the National Youth Circuit Racing Series and the National Youth Omnium series qualifying for the finals in both. On 15th July she finished a very creditable 8th out of 25 against the strongest riders in the country at The National Youth Omnium finals and was ranked 2nd of the 1st year U16 riders overall.
This September Gabriella will be applying for a place on the National School of Racing for both endurance (track and Road) and Track Sprint disciplines.

Grace Y - Swimming

Grace Y (now in Year 9) joined the English National team at Sheffield over the summer, where she qualified for the 13 yr+ finals and came 9th in the country after a 2 second PB!

Mathilda C - Lacrosse for Italy

Mathilda C (now in Year 13) was selected to captain Team Italy at the Lacrosse U21 European Championships.

It was a tremendous experience for her and the team, and she was not alone, as she joined two other Putney girls who were there representing England (who went on to win). Mathilda was named MVP in the final match against Germany, with loads of saves and the match went into overtime. She managed to save astonishing 80 goals in 6 games.
