Reception and Years 1 – 2

Summer Uniform:

  • Summer dress with white ankle socks
  • Choice of cardigan or jumper
  • Black leather shoes – low heeled (low front shoes must have a strap, no trainers or ballet pumps)

Winter Uniform:

  • Purple school coat
  • V necked plaid pinafore
  • Plain white polo shirt (unbranded can also be worn for PE)
  • Choice of cardigan or jumper
  • Grey tights or socks
  • Black leather shoes – low heeled (low front shoes must have a strap, no trainers or ballet pumps)
  • Winter hats, gloves and scarf may be of girls’ choice

Optional hair accessories may be purple, black, white or grey

Years 3 – 6:

  • Plaid skirt (double pleat with zip fastening and adjustable waist)
  • White blouse
  • Choice of cardigan or jumper
  • Grey tights or socks
  • Black leather shoes – low heeled (low front shoes must have a strap, no trainers or ballet pumps)

Optional hair accessories may be purple, black, white or grey

Second hand Uniform

The Friends of Putney High School (FOPHS) run excellent second hand uniform sales at the beginning of each term.

Senior School

Years 7 – 11:

  • Grey skirt or grey trousers (skirts must be no shorter than 10cm above the knee when standing)
  • Lilac and white striped revere collar blouse
  • Purple crested V neck jumper
  • Black tights (compulsory in winter months until after Easter)
  • Black, grey or white socks to cover ankles

Summer Uniform is the same as above.

 

House Shirts

Years 7-11:

  • Green – Beryl Burton
  • Yellow – Kathleen Ferrier
  • Blue – Audrey Hepburn
  • Red – Freya Stark

Jewellery and Make-up

  • Students should not wear any jewellery. Religious emblems may be worn with special permission from the Deputy Head (Pastoral)
  • Students whose ears have been pierced may wear a single pair of silver or gold studs in the lobe only. However, they will be asked to remove earrings at the start of every PE lesson. If your daughter wishes to have her ears pierced, the school advises this should be done at the start of the summer holidays. Earrings must be removed for every PE lesson and taping is not permitted
  • A nose stud, or any other such facial piercing, is not permitted
  • Make up and nail polish are not permitted and students will be asked to remove it
  • Hair dye is not permitted

  • All valuables should be locked away in school lockers at the beginning of the school day. Changing rooms are not locked during PE lessons

Choir/Orchestra Uniform

Members of the school choirs and orchestras will be required to wear ‘concert black’. Students across the Senior School should wear smart and festive black clothes of a cut and style that suits them. T-shirts and jeans or leggings are not permitted. They should wear black tights and smart flat shoes.
