Elite Sports Round-Up May 2023

Achievements, Celebration, Rowing, Senior School, Sixth Form, Sports

Niamh C - Rowing

Congratulations to Niamh (pictured left) who represented the Great Britain U19 Rowing Team at Munich International Junior Regatta. She placed 2nd in the two and 3rd in the four. It was her first taste of international competition, and she performed very well.

Annie M and Habi L - Lacrosse England

Annie and Habi are currently preparing for the U21 European Championships which is being held in the Czech Republic in August. They have recently competed at Home Internationals for the England U21 Squad against Scotland and Wales, where they achieved a win. After the European Championships they look forward to the World Cup next summer in Hong Kong with selections being made for that next year. Outstanding work!

Lucy W - Running

Congratulations to Lucy who was live on BBC television last Friday. She was selected to run the 800m at the Night of the 10,000m PBs, London-World Athletics Continental Silver Tour. She was also the Surrey 300m champion and won silver in the 800m at Surrey Athletics Championships.

Giselle F - Tennis

Fantastic results for Giselle who is playing in the Tennis Europe Tournament in Turkey, where she has qualified for the quarter finals. She also won her doubles with her partner from Iraq and qualified for the doubles semi-finals.
Giselle has moved to the U14 category since January 2023 and is often one of the youngest players in U14 tournaments. She started playing Tennis Europe as well as LTA tournaments where she has recently won some U18 Grade 4 tournaments. She is also a team member of the Middlesex U14 County Cup Squad.
