Eleanor T - Table Tennis

Congratulations to Eleanor (Year 10), who has been selected to play for Wales at the prestigious European Youth Championships for Table Tennis to be held in Prague in July this year.

Earlier this year she played at the Welsh National Championships. Eleanor won silver in U15 girls category narrowly missing out on the Gold in a match that went to the full five sets and lost in the 5th, 11-9. She also won a Bronze National medal in the U17 doubles event.

Mabel-Rose S

Athletics

Congratulations to Mabel-Rose (Year 11) who had an extraordinary start to the season in high jump. She is the Surrey Champion for U17 High Jump, placed 1st at the international qualifying BIGish event amongst mixed age groups, and is the South of England U20 Champion.

She came 4th just missing out on bronze at the U20/U23 England National Championships, again competing above her age group, jumping amongst the best in the UK.
She won Gold at the London Schools Championships qualifying for this weekend’s English Schools Championships in Birmingham where she will travel as part of the London team.
Mabel-Rose has consistently jumped at a height of 1.70, which ranks her at No 6 in U17 in the UK and No 1 in London.
She will compete again at the England Nationals in her age group U17 at the end of August.

Willow S

Athletics

Besides breaking two school records in the 75m hurdles and long jump (both previous records were from 2005, click here to read), Willow (Year 9) has been busy outside of school as well.

Willow competed at the Surrey Championships gaining a silver medal with the same height as the winner but just falling short on countback! She went on to win gold in the 75m Hurdles at the Wandsworth championship along with gold in high jump.
She qualified for the London championships where she again won gold in both events jumping a PB of 1.56 in High Jump which ranks her at No 9 in the UK.
She is currently ranked No 2 for U15 in London for hurdles and High Jump. Great work Willow!
South of England and England Nationals are next.

Harper C

Cricket

Harper (Year 7) has played up for our U14 and U15 teams as well as captaining our U12 team. The U12s are in the final of the Surrey Cup on 4 July. During the semi-final match vs Sutton High, Harper scored 96 off 50 balls! Well done Harper!

Beatrice R - Tennis

Congratulations to Beatrice R (Year 6) who won a U14 Grade 4 tournament in Chiswick last week. She has been selected to play for Surrey U11 team, to play in National finals in Wrexham, Wales in beginning of July, as well as West Hants Nationals Grade 1 (singles) in July and Nottingham Nationals (singles and doubles) in August.

In the past semester Beatrice came first in her box and went through to the main draw in Grade 2 U11 Nationals Wrexham, Wales. She came 2nd in doubles U11 Grade 2 Nationals Sheffield and also won her box and made it to main draw in singles in the same event. In January she was, with nine others, invited to spend two days at the LTA National Camp for training and matches at Nottingham Tennis centre.

Ms Westcott - Ironman

Miss Westcott, Head of Academic PE, came second in her age group and 15th overall at Ironman Staffordshire 70.3. She qualified for the World 70.3 Championships in Lahti, Finland on 26th August.

Her main goal for the season is the full distance at Ironman Portugal in October half term, where she will aim to qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Nice in 2024. A true inspiration for our students, well done!

Liv Z - Tennis

Congratulations to Liv (Year 7) who is currently No.1 ranking in Great Britain for U12 girls. She recently won the Tennis Europe Category 1, Boulogne Billancourt U12 Girls Doubles, and was a U12 Girls Singles, Quarter Finalist. Liv is also selected to represent Team GB at U12 Friendly vs France, Tarbes.

She was a winner of the Tennis Europe Category 1, Auray, U12 Girls Doubles, and became Tennis Europe Category 1, Vrsar, Croatia, U12 Girls Singles Winner and the U12 Girls Doubles Winner.

One of Liv’s highlights was the very special invitation from IMG Future Stars Tournament 2023 which took place in April at TATOÏ Club, in Athens, Greece.

Among other great results, Liv is the U14 County Cup National Champion for Surrey (she was the youngest member in the team), U12 Girls Double winner, and semi finalist of the U12 Singles in the National Tour, Welsh Championships Grade two.

Liv is selected to represent Team GB in July at U12 Lampo Trophy, Italy. This is a Nations Cup where Team GB is competing against Australia, South Korea, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Bosnia, Slovenia and Austria,

Giselle F

Tennis
Congratulations to Giselle (Year 7) won the U14 first round tournament of ‘Play Your Way To Wimbledon’ and came runner up in a doubles U16 G3 tournament with her Friend Klara.
The winners and runners up of each PYWTW first round will play regional finals in July and the first two qualified will be playing 14U Junior Finals in Wimbledon later this year. (This is not linked to the Wimbledon official tournament but the finals will be played at the AELTC Wimbledon ground and courts.)
For the summer Giselle is planning a series of tournaments in the UK and has Tennis Europe still to be confirmed, as well as two weeks of high intensity training in Barcelona, Spain, at the 4Slam academy where Andrey Rublev is based.

Martha G

Tennis

Martha (Year 8) competed recently in U18 ITF J30 in Poland and reached the singles quarter-final gaining her first U18 world ranking points. She is looking forward to her next ITF in Edinburgh. Well done Martha!

Dasha J

Tennis

Well done to Dasha (Year 6) and her team who came 2nd out of eight teams losing out to the Czech Republic in a close final during the Queenswood Internationals. The match featured top national U11 junior tennis players from The Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Canada and Czech Republic.

Lola B - Tennis

Lola (Year 6) represented France at the Queenswood International Team Trophy last week where seven countries competed in a team event in U11.

This was Lola’s first international event and she finished the week with wins in both singles and doubles against the Netherlands.

Lucy W - Athletics

Lucy (Year 10) won 800m bronze at the London County Schools Championships, qualifying for the London team at the English Schools Track and Field Championships which take place at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham this weekend.

Rhea M - Tennis

Congratulations to Rhea (Year 8) who just won the Wilson Champions Bowl for the UK in U13 category and has been invited to represent GB team in September at the Wilson World Finals in Umag, Croatia.
