Oxford University Computing Challenge

Computational thinking and problem solving are just two ‘Skills for the Future’  that we actively develop in school. The Oxford University Computing Challenge (OUCC) is an invitation event which aims to encourage students who have achieved a top 10% score in the UK Bebras Challenge to develop their skills further and produce programmed solutions to computational thinking problems.

Following on from Putney’s success at the Bebras UK Challenge in November, 43 students were invited to compete in Round 1 of the OUCC. The coding tasks were extremely challenging and made for some exciting debate. We achieved exceptional results with a host of merits and distinctions – a fantastic outcome in such a prestigious contest!

Congratulations to Nicole M in 8WND who achieved the highest score in the school.  All 43 students who competed along with Nicole, qualify automatically for the OUCC next year.
