Nia Parfitt

Head Student

Hi, I’m Nia and I am currently studying Mandarin, Economics, Geography and an EPQ. I am truly honoured and privileged to have been chosen to take on the role of Head Student and cannot wait to begin. I have been a pupil at Putney since Reception and I have always loved Putney’s values and what it strives to achieve, in terms of spirit, academic success and its contagious ambitious energy. I love Putney’s enthusiasm to empower students to follow what they really enjoy and develop through every aspect of school life.

I have loved immersing myself in all areas of Putney’s co-curricular alongside my academic studies, ranging from lacrosse, netball and football to music ensembles, and various extra-curricular clubs. I really value trust and friendship, so I have thoroughly enjoyed working with our younger students helping to engage and inspire them. I have especially loved leading Mandarin club in addition to coaching students in sports. Putney has really shaped who I am through encouraging confidence and enthusiasm whilst creating a highly motivated and aspirational environment. I would therefore like to assist every student to thrive and make the most out of the incredible opportunities on offer.

I will endeavour to fulfil all my duties to the best of my ability and help bridge the gap between students and staff. I hope to embody the school’s warmth and spread Putney’s positivity, whilst fostering the caring spirit of the school.

Holly Baldwin

Student Leadership Team

Hello, I’m Holly, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the student leadership team this year! I currently study Economics, Maths, Geography, and an EPQ at A-level. After leaving Putney, I hope to further my studies at university taking Economics with Politics.

Since joining Putney in Year 7, I’ve been fully immersed in the Putney experience. Besides the exceptional teaching available here, Putney’s supportive and inclusive atmosphere has fostered my confidence and independence. It has also provided me with incredible opportunities to explore a wide variety of co-curricular activities. I’m eager to give back and collaborate with the Putney community to further promote all the wonderful aspects of our school!

I particularly thrive in dance and drama and have participated in numerous performing arts shows at Putney, including the Dance Show and Fame. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege to assist choreographing school performances such as SIX. I’m looking forward to what my final year brings and to working alongside the other five amazing members of the team.

Francesca Gooding

Student Leadership Team

Hi, I’m Fran and I am currently studying History of Art, Psychology, Textiles and an EPQ. I am truly delighted to have been selected to be on the Student Leadership Team this year and cannot wait to begin working with the team! I am extremely grateful to be learning in such a positive environment, surrounded by hugely supportive teachers and wonderful students, whom I’m looking forward to work collaboratively alongside.

I have been at Putney since Reception, and I have loved every moment of my thirteen years here. I particularly admire the incredibly inclusive community and the endless opportunities Putney has to offer, both inside and outside of the classroom. Alongside my studies, I love engaging in Putney sport. I am Sports Captain of Hepburn, Gymnastics Captain and Second’s Netball Captain. I also take part in Psychology Futures and help with Textiles drop-in sessions for the younger students in my role as Textiles ambassador.

Putney has given me the confidence to strive in all my endeavours and has shaped who I am today. With the support of the other five members of the team we will continue to ensure that all students get the best out of life at Putney!

Amelia Painting

Student Leadership Team

Hi! I’m Amelia, but I tend to go by Mimi. I only joined Putney in September and  I have loved every minute. I am delighted to be on the Head Student Team and cannot wait to work with the students and staff to spread the Putney positivity that made me feel so welcome.

I am currently studying PE, Geography, and RS and have aspirations to study at university in the USA. However, outside of the classroom, my passion lies in sport. I play lacrosse for Ireland as well as represent Putney in lacrosse, netball, and cross country. Looking back on my lacrosse season at Putney this year accentuates the sense of belonging, team spirit, and fantastic energy that my teammates provided. I am so fortunate to have spent my first season at Putney with such incredible teammates. It highlights the true value of finding your tribe, wherever your passions lie, be it sports drama or music. There is a team for everyone at Putney, and once you find it you will definitely feel it!

I am so grateful for my time at Putney so far, and cannot wait to give back to such a remarkable community. As a member of the head student team, I hope to help everyone find their own Putney tribe.

Diya Sharma

Student Leadership Team

Hi, I’m Diya and I’m so excited to be part of this year’s Student Leadership Team! You might know me from the many ASIP emails you receive weekly or Forensic Psychology Club (you should definitely join! Lunch 1 Room 1 if you’re interested…). I am currently studying A Levels in Psychology, Spanish, English and an EPQ. I am hoping to study Psychology and Linguistics at university next year.

Putney has been an amazing experience for me, and I have felt so supported by the staff and the great friends I’ve made over the years. I would love to work towards making Putney a similarly positive experience for all its students. If anyone ever has anything they want to share, please feel free to come and find me for a chat! I’m really looking forward to getting to know some of you a bit better, and hearing your views and ideas for Putney.

Imogen Whelan

Student Leadershp Team

Hi, I’m Imogen and I am honoured to be part of the Student Leadership Team at Putney. I am taking French, History, English Literature and an EPQ at A-Level, and am planning to study a combination of History and Modern Languages at university.

I cannot wait to liaise with the students and teachers at Putney, and to promote Putney’s values throughout the school and beyond. Since joining in Year 7, I have been an active participant in co-curricular and academic life, whether auditioning for drama productions, performing in Senior Choir, or attending History and Debating Society. I’ve really enjoyed being Creative Editor of the school’s magazine, A Study in Purple, and being able to interact with the younger years through running Burton House Drama – I am excited to further connect with a range of Putney students over the next year.

I look forward to representing such a welcoming, nurturing community and to working with the lovely members of the Student Leadership Team!
