Our Year 10 students have been busy this week with their PPE lessons, not personal protective equipment but Politics, Philosophy and Economics!

With Mrs Patience they have been learning about why businesses exist and what they do. The students have been practising their entrepreneurial skills with a Dragons’ Den style competition to design a new dessert. They had to plan and pitch their ideas in class.

This half term, the winners were Evie J, Dani D, and Carolina L. whose business idea was Intoxicake, a range of luxury event style cupcakes aimed at the corporate and events market. They had carefully considered their marketing strategy to choose the best pricing, distribution and promotion methods for their product.
Evie J, one third of the winning team said; “I really enjoyed the project as it was fun to do something that was out of the classic curriculum. The lessons are very interesting and I think they’re a really good introduction to business.”

We look forward to seeing them on the real Dragons‘ Den in the future.
