We are extremely proud of Maddy C in Year 12. Maddy is an accomplished artist who has already achieved a coveted ‘9’ in her Art GCSE and now her GCSE piece, “Swimmer” has been selected to grace the walls of the new GDST head office; one of three paintings shortlisted from hundreds across the 25 schools of the GDST.

Maddy produced the original work in oil on canvas, as part of her coursework project based on ‘Nature and Man-made’ and in response to her own artist research, in particular, David Hockney and his montage work.

Maddy is a keen triathlete and swims with Optima Racing Team. Her painting was inspired by her love of swimming and the human form.
