Design and Construction – Junior Site Visit

Construction Company Wates approached Putney Junior School about designing some posters and artwork to form part of their site hoarding. One girl from each KS2 class was appointed to gather pictures and information about the construction project that is underway.
They visited the site and asked insightful questions about how the buildings are making use of recycled materials along with making the 41 new homes as energy efficient as possible for our environment.
The girls also learnt about the process of adapting buildings and what training would be needed to work in the construction industry.
They will now feedback to their classes with a presentation on how to stay safe on and around a construction site and launch our Hoarding Design Competition. The winners will have their work displayed in the New Year.
