The Battlefields of Belgium – Year 9 trip

News, Senior School, Trips

Year 9 stepped back in time during a battlefields trip to Belgium. The first stop was the Lijssenthoek Cemetery, learning about nurse Nellie Spindler who died during the Battle of Passchendaele, and Donald Snaddon who served with the 1st Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers during the First World War and was killed in action aged 15.

The second stop was Ypres, where the students discovered how the British trench system worked.
