TEAM GB for Putney Rowers

Achievements, Celebration, Headline, In the Press, News, Rowing, Senior School, Sports

Our J16 Girls Quad went to the Friday Henley Qualifiers to gain experience and confidence as they build for the next two years of rowing and Henley Campaigns. They did incredibly well, only missing out on qualification by 2 seconds, racing as underage athletes in a J18 International event.

The girls then rallied themselves, as one day later on Sunday 25th they had their final big trial of the rowing season – attempting to qualify their quad as the GB representative boat at the upcoming GB-FRANCE Match.

We are very happy to report that the girls won the 1500m time trial overturning the result from Womens Henley and beating Henley RC by over 1.5 seconds to earn their first international vest and opportunity to represent the country.

Honor P, Lucy C, Emily P, Izabella H-T (and Senior Coach Rachel Saunders) will be racing for GB glory on Wednesday 12 July up at Nottingham Holme Pierrepoint against the best quad France can muster.
