On Friday 15 March, Year 6 were delighted to have a visit from MP for Wimbledon, Stephen Hammond. He began his talk by describing the three primary responsibilities of an MP: answering the emails from the members of his constituency, participating in the debates in the House of Commons, and questioning the Prime Minister and their government in PM’s questions.

Mr. Hammond has been an MP for more than ten years, after being voted back into power twice. After his talk, pupils enjoyed a question and answer session with him. There were many interesting ones, ranging from Brexit to the prevention of headaches in the middle of debates.
