GCSE Results 2019 – Over a quarter get 10 A*s or more!

  • 62% grades at 9/8 or A*
  • More than a quarter of the year group achieved as many as 10 A* 9/8 grades or more.
  • 82% of entries at 9 -7 or A*/A grade

One Putney student named as the UK’s top performer in Classical Civilisation GCSE.

Subjects achieving 100% A* /A or 9-7 include, Drama, Mandarin, Music, Religious Studies, Russian, Design Technology Textiles and Japanese.

Other high performing subjects at A* 9-7 include Classical Civilisation (89%) and Latin (92%).

English Literature students achieved 97% A*-A with 68% grades at A*. In Mathematics there were 86% of grades at 9-7 and 98% at 9-6, and in Biology students were rewarded with 82% of grades at 9-7.

 

 

Molly Reed

Molly Reed was named as the top performing student in the country in Classical Civilisation OCR GCSE. The board wrote to notify the school saying, “Many congratulations to Molly … for this impressive achievement”. Molly has achieved a clean sweep of 10 x 9/8 or A* grades.

“I am shocked and really delighted”, said Molly “I love Classical Civilisation because of all the fascinating stories – I have really enjoyed learning about all the amazing cultures of long ago”.

Molly is planning to study English, History and Drama at A Level.

Lottie Nathan

Lottie Nathan achieved a clean sweep of 10 A* or 9/8 grades. Lottie wants to pursue a career in business and will be working with fashion house, Preen, from September on preparations for their London Fashion Week show.

Aimee Armstrong

Aimee Armstrong achieved a clean sweep of 10 GCSEs at A*/9/8 grades and combined her GCSE studies with rehearsals and performing with professional hip hop dance group, Flawless. Throughout her GCSEs her commitments included performances at Sadlers Wells and a photo/video shoot on the morning of her second biology GCSE, in which she attained grade 9.

“Even though at first I was extremely busy with so many rehearsals during the exam period, I often found that being able to dance really helped to take my mind off exams,” said Aimee.

Sophie Dulieu

Sophie Dulieu  achieved a clean sweep of 10 x A*9 grades having combined her GCSE studies with working at Wimbledon as a Ball Girl.
