Our Y7 Italian bilingual students went to the National Gallery to see how Caravaggio, Botticelli and others have depicted St Francis of Assisi.

Over the centuries and up to the present day, artists have responded to St Francis of Assisi and to the challenges set by his radical choices. His abandonment of wealth and possessions, his profound humility, his love of nature, the simplicity of his faith and the establishment of the Franciscan order constitute a remarkable legacy that still resonates today.

Such a powerful visit had to be finished, of course, with pizza and gelato! La cultura Italiana é meravigliosa!
