PIE at lunchtime – Adrian Michaels – Journalist

We were delighted to welcome an award-winning national and international newspaper journalist as our “PIE at Lunchtime” speaker today.

Adrian Michaels spoke about his journey from working nights sub-editing for the Financial Times, to writing the leader column of the Telegraph as Foreign Editor.

 

 

Mr Michaels talked about the many great things about working in journalism, some of the qualities you need to succeed, e.g. (curiosity, organisation and a love of words) and the realities of a role responsible for writing what can sometimes be “the first draft of history”.
