Year 13 Prizegiving – Danielle Lux

Achievements, Alumnae, General, Guests, News, Senior School, Sixth Form

We were delighted to gather in the Performing Arts Centre yesterday for what seemed like the first in a very long time for our Year 13 Prizegiving.

It was a wonderful celebration of the many achievements of the year group, who have not only shown enormous dedication to their studies and activities while at school, but also great spirit and resilience amid the disruption of their final year.

Our musical interludes were provided by Music Scholar, Ciara W and the PHS staff band, with Mrs Crocombe and Mr Pattie on vocals.

Our Prizegiving speaker, who unfortunately was forced to self-isolate at the last minute, was Putney alumna, Danielle Lux (class of 1982). She delivered her address via Zoom.

Danielle is Managing Director of CPL – a BAFTA award-winning, independent television production company which makes television and radio programmes for the UK and USA. She works as both a co-creator, producer and broadcaster across comedy, entertainment and children’s television, working on shows as varied as A League of Their Own for SKY TV, to Channel 4’s Married at First Sight

Before CPL, Danielle worked for the BBC and Channel 4, commissioning hit shows including Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights

Danielle spoke about the importance of the friendships made at school, the importance of doing something you feel passionately about, and the resilience she had learnt at Putney. “You only need one ‘yes’ to get you started”.

Thank you to Danielle for joining us and for her inspiring words.
