World Class Universities – Higher Education Forum

Alumnae, Careers, Events, Senior School, Sixth Form

On Tuesday 19 March, 5-7pm we invited Years 10 – 13 to the Sixth Form centre for our World Class Universities – Higher Education Forum. We were able to explore what it is like to study subjects such as History, Medicine, Law or Anthropology at university and what it takes to make a successful application to the top universities.

We were delighted to welcome back four recent alumnae (classes of 2013 and 2017) to share their experiences of Higher Education and their early careers:

Sophie Ladmore – History of Art at Leeds University and currently studying Marketing

Emma Eastcott – Zoology at Bristol University and is about to start Fast Track Civil Service

Bethany Reeves – Organ Scholar at Brasenose College, Oxford University

Katharine Nash – Taking a Law Conversion course having studied History at Edinburgh University

There were 15- minute subject presentations on offer and sessions on general higher education topics (from UCAS and workshops on personal statements, to Oxbridge applications). Sessions were repeated throughout the evening, so that everyone could take advantage of what was on offer.

Mrs Van Der Linden, our US Universities specialist, gave presentations for those considering applications to US universities.
