Alumna, Clare Muggleton (Class of 2014), returned to Putney High School to give the latest ‘Working Breakfast’ talk. After studying Civil Engineering at Edinburgh University, Clare went on to work as a Fire Safety Engineer at Arup, where she has learned her craft alongside one of the expert witnesses in the Grenfell Tower inquiry. Clare described her work on the construction of the Elizabeth Line and the refurbishment of the Royal Academy of Art. She helped design the giant wooden replica of London’s 1666 skyline on the River Thames to commemorate the Great Fire of London’s 350^th anniversary, making sure the replica would burn without setting alight any boats or buildings around it.
