The Power of Poetry – Poetry Festival 2018

Last night, Putney’s budding poets performed some impressive pieces of work in the school’s annual Poetry Festival. Entries were judged by esteemed poet, Lavinia Greenlaw, author of 11 books of verse published by Faber and nominated for the T.S. Eliot, Forward, Whitbread and Costa prizes.

In further creative writing news, poet Frances Leviston will be joining us from 14th-16thMarch. Frances has published two books of poetry with Picador and been nominated for the T.S. Eliot and Forward prizes. Frances will be reading some of her own work and hosting creative writing sessions with students from Years 9, 10& 12, as well as running five masterclass poetry workshops with groups of students from Y10-13.
