The Last Post

Arts, Junior School, News, Performance

Two of our Year 5 trumpeters played the Last Post in an assembly about Remembrance Day. In discussing the significance of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance, the girls saw the ceramic poppy that was part of the installation at the Tower of London last year and which is now owned by the school. The poppy was bought in memory of our Old Boy, Douglas Lindsay, who died in the trenches in 1917 aged 20 and all our Old Boys who were injured in the First World War.
