A Study in Purple meets Glamour Magazine

Arts, Careers, Guests, News, Sixth Form

On Tuesday 16 November, five of us from the current and previous editorial teams of A Study in Purple (Putney’s student-run magazine) took part in a social media workshop with Luca Wetherby-Matthews, the social media assistant at Glamour UK magazine. It was a workshop that the previous team had won as a prize at the Shine Media Awards 2021.

We all gained a fascinating insight into the exciting and dynamic world of social media and the importance of a company’s social media team in promoting and marketing their brand. We also learned about the diverse ways in which Glamour UK utilises all available social media platforms in order to take a 360º approach, redirect traffic online, and reach their largest possible audience.

We really enjoyed finding out about all the insider tips and tricks of social media and how to reach a target demographic. Sophia Wyllie, A Study in Purple’s current social media manager, said: “I found it super interesting because it allowed us to step into the world of social media and learn about the different marketing ploys available at hand.

With the help of the social media assistant at Glamour UKA Study in Purple can now follow in their footsteps using both an analytical and tactical approach to broaden our reach.”
We cannot wait to implement all the new strategies we have picked up in the workshop whilst running this year’s A Study in Purple.
