Sport as a Tool for Development and Women's Empowerment - PIE at Lunchtime Schyler Neale

Careers, Community, Events, News, PIE, Senior School, Sports

This week our PIE at Lunchtime talk was delivered by current Lacrosse Coach, Miss Schyler Neale.

Miss Neale studied International Relations at the American University in Washington DC before travelling to Kenya in 2015 to work with children with cerebral palsy and neurological disabilities.

She spoke about her involvement with the Kenya Lacrosse Programme where she is currently manager of the U19 team, and how sport can be used as a tool for development and women’s empowerment, promoting good health and wellbeing through health education and campaigns, and appealing to the disenfranchised and non-traditional learners.

Miss Neale’s careers advice to us was to pursue our interests.

“Google the three things you’re most interested in and something with pop up”.

Excellent advice and an inspirational talk. Thank you!
