The Arts
Sixth Form
Explore your creativity in Art, Design Technology, Textiles, Drama, Music... even an annual Dance Show.
Art
A Level students enjoy their own dedicated studio space and every year go on to the leading art and design colleges including Central Saint Martins, the Courtauld, Camberwell and Kingston University.
Putney students regularly exhibit at the Young Artists Royal Academy Summer Show and there are trips to Tate Modern.
Drama
Drama is a central part of life in Sixth Form, with the annual musical being a highlight of the school year, featuring productions like SIX or The Addams Family. Students can take the lead in House Drama Festivals, write, produce, or perform in various shows, and participate in acting and writing masterclasses. With theatre trips, a Dance Show, and numerous opportunities to shine, there’s always something to fuel your creativity.
DT: Textiles
Our Textiles programme immerses students in the dynamic world of fashion. Students explore consumer trends, textile products, and construction processes while employing creative and technological principles to craft innovative garments.
With access to two well-equipped textiles rooms and training in skills from basic sewing to advanced techniques like tailoring and embroidery, students benefit from a hands-on, industry-relevant experience. There are regular fashion shows and inspiring visits from leading designers such as Philip Treacy and Deborah Milner.
DT: Product Design
Sixth Form Product Design puts creativity and innovation at the forefront of technological advancement. Students combine artistic and scientific principles to design market-ready products, while gaining valuable skills in ICT, engineering, and problem-solving. With the latest in CAD CAM, 3D printing, and laser cutting, our Product Design space, Innovation Hub, and Design Thinking curriculum empower students to iterate, prototype, and solve problems innovatively, making it ideal preparation for careers in Engineering, Architecture, or Design.
Music
Our programme fosters excellence in performing, composing, and appraising across a broad spectrum of musical disciplines. Students gain a deep understanding of music through the study of diverse works and extensive practical experience, benefiting from state-of-the-art facilities including acoustically engineered practice rooms, a recording studio, and a composition room with the latest tech.
With nearly half of the school participating in choirs, orchestras, chamber and jazz ensembles, rock bands, and music clubs, there’s no shortage of opportunities for students to engage in music-making.
