Revision tips from the Learning Scientists

How can staff and students teach and learn most efficiently?

This week we were delighted to find out from the Learning Scientists, a group of cognitive psychology experts from the USA who have been sharing their fascinating research into successful study habits with Putney’s Action Research group.

Their work has led to invaluable findings into how we can use our time wisely for the most effective revision and retrieval of knowledge and, no surprises, it turns out “cramming” for a test is not the best option. Little and often is key, as is the simple act of trying to remember, testing yourself and quite literally “bringing something to mind”.

We look forward to employing more of their proven techniques across the school.
