Putney High School is to become an iPadAcademy. The move follows asuccessful trial in which every Year 4 girl has been given an iPad to enhancetheir independent thinking and learning.
RespectediPad educationalist, Professor Steve Molyneux attended asuccessful iPad Party for GDST Junior Heads and ICT leaders, delivering an inspirational presentation. He then watched Year 4demonstrate their admirable skills in using the iPads.
ProfessorMolyneux said:“I am incredibly impressed with the use of iPads in Y4 at PutneyHigh School. There is a lot of excellent practice going on here. Weat the iPad Academy look forward to working with Putney as they aim to lead theway in the post-PC era.”
iPadAcademy status will allow Putney High School to share and develop thisexpertise through intensive training days forteachers alongside colleagues from local independent and state schools.
Mrs Jo Wallace, Head of Putney High School JuniorSchool, said:“It has been wonderful to see just how much the pupils havegained by working on the iPads– girls have been presenting their knowledge andunderstanding through a host of original, creative ways not previously possiblein the classroom. This tool enables our girls to become even more independentthrough research, sharing of information, collaboration and presentation.”
