We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Paul Reedy as Putney’s Director of Performance from January 2022.

Mr Reedy joins Putney with an impressive pedigree in sport. He has worked with the GB rowing team since 2009 with numerous coaching successes at World and Olympic level including a memorable Olympic gold medal at London 2012 with the Lightweight Women’s Double.

More recently he was the Lead Coach for Women’s sculling at this summer’s Tokyo Olympics, guiding Vicky Thornley to a credible 4th place in the Women’s Single Scull – the highest place ever for GB in that event.

Mr Reedy is an experienced Tideway coach and, prior to his responsibilities with the GB team, was Chief Coach at London Rowing Club from 2001, overseeing a number of successes at Henley Royal Regatta.

Mr Reedy also comes with a first-class rowing and sculling pedigree. As a rower himself, he is a two-time Olympian and an Olympic, World and Commonwealth medallist.

Mr Reedy’s appointment comes at a time when Putney High School has been named in the top 5 schools for sport nationally and most recently, as a top 20 school for cricket. His experience as a qualified physiotherapist and high-performance coach will add to our already successful strength and conditioning programmes and coaching development programmes at Putney.
