How can innovative solutions be used to transform societies?

We were delighted to welcome Sharmaine Malik for PIE at Lunchtime talk to tell us more about the Mee Too app – a peer support app for young people age 11 to 23 that helps them talk about difficult things.

Launched in 2015, MeeTwo currently supports over 12, 500 young people and is the only existing app in the UK that is 100% anonymous and 100% safe.

In 2019 MeeTwo won the prestigious Tech4Good Connected Society Award, The People’s Award and the Medtech innovation award and Mayor of London’s  Business award for Social Impact. The initiative has also been featured by The BBCThe TimesThe Guardian, and Forbes Magazine.

The talk provided a fascinating insight into the MeeTwo app and how it is helping young people in the UK. It was also an opportunity to discuss  how innovative solutions like this can help empower young people, strengthen communities and ultimately transform societies.
