Overall Winner – Wimbledon Bookfest Young Writers’ Competition

We are delighted to announce that Polly Cameron in Year 11 has been awarded the OVERALL WINNER in the Wimbledon BookFest Young Writers’ Competition 2018 (with her KS4 story category entry).

Her entry was chosen for its excellent writing and ability to engage the reader.

Other Putney girls whose writings were recognised were: Mai Noubir, ‘Monster’ – commended; Georgie Middlemiss, ‘The Monster Above my Bed’ – highly commended; Helene Oskanian, ‘The Monster in my Mind’ – highly commended.

Polly is invited to the grand prize-giving with former Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell at the BookFest launch on the morning of Thursday 20 September 2018. She and other YWC winners will be presented with their awards by Chris and the Chair of Judges.
