Celebrating A Level Results Day 2026

Putney High School’s Class of 2026 is celebrating impressive A Level results with students winning places at their first-choice universities from Oxford, Cambridge and leading Russell Group institutions to prestigious destinations in the US and Europe.

With 32% of grades at A*, results demonstrate talent, hard work, and determination across the board, with students heading off to study courses from Anthropology with Innovation to Product Design to Marine Biology.

Top Universities

Oxford, Durham, Edinburgh, Exeter and Bristol are the most popular destinations with students choosing courses from Cancer Biology & Immunology to Ecological & Environmental Sciences and Economics & Management.

Two students have been awarded prestigious sports scholarships to US universities. Katherine will head to Duke on a rowing scholarship while Annabel is the recipient of a tennis scholarship at the University of Delaware. In Europe, Sophie and Chiara will head to IE Madrid while Victoria and Alexandra are off to Bocconi in Milan.

Putney students continued to excel in STEM with 77% of grades in Physics at A*-A. Students will go on to study Medicine at Oxford, Manchester, King’s College London and Queen’s University Belfast. Other successes include students heading off to study courses including Biochemistry at Oxford, Architectural Engineering at Sheffield and Neuroscience at UCL.

Exceptional results were awarded across the humanities, languages and the arts:

Putney students will go on in September to study creative courses from Film Studies and History of Art to Fashion Marketing at Russell Group universities including Exeter, Manchester, and Leeds. Head Student Mia heads to the University of St. Andrew’s to study International Relations.

Mia, Head Student, achieved four A*s and now heads off to the University of St Andrew’s to study International Relations.
