Putney High School is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Liz McLaughlin as the new Head of Putney High Junior School. Currently Head of Wetherby School, Kensington, Ms McLaughlin will join us in January 2025.
Harvard-educated Ms McLaughlin brings with her more than a decade’s experience of Headship. She was previously Head at Falcons Pre-Prep School, Chiswick, and before that, Primary School Principal at the International School of London. A passionate advocate for single sex education, she is a visionary who shares Putney’s commitment to research and the science of learning. Her own research interests have centred on curriculum development and literacy.
Ms McLaughlin told us:
“I cannot imagine a school which is a better fit for me than Putney High, with its values of encouraging children to be intrepid, inclusive, inquisitive and innovative, and its emphasis on kindness.
“I am looking forward to joining a community where we can have a real impact on our pupils’ entire school journey. I have studied education for more than 25 years and now, as a mother of six year old twins, I have also seen first-hand the impact of school life on a child’s future. I am thrilled to be able to lead a team that will help to empower the next generation to make a difference in our world.”
