The Year 9 Mandarin students had an opportunity to explore Chinese porcelain dating from the 3rd to the 20th century in the British Museum. It was a fantastic experience for the girls to understand the history of porcelain – the skilful transformation of ordinary clay into wonderful objects which has fascinated people throughout the ages and across the globe. The pupils interviewed Chinese visitors in the British Museum and they enjoyed communicating in Mandarin in a real life setting.
