Mabel-Rose in Year 7 has just been nominated for Wandsworth Young Athlete of the Year.
Mabel-Rose is now the South of England indoor High Jump Champion winning Gold with a new PB of 1.52.
We are extremely proud of the hard work and levels of commitment she puts into her training – always with a smile on her face.
Mabel-Rose told us, “I’m quite proud of myself because it’s a really great opportunity for me.”
“My school work is very important but I love training to keep myself fit and ready for competitions. I train every Monday, Thursday and Saturday for a total of 9 hours a week.”
Next will be the National Athletics Championships where her jump of 1.52 has qualified her for the upper age group (U15) High Jump.
“My target was 1.55, which I was quite close to, but my new target is 1.60 which would take me on to the all time U13 list.”
Well done Mabel-Rose, we will be watching!
