Loren B, Year 12, is hoping to study medicine at university and is the latest recipient of Putney’s Elsa Maud Plant Scholarship. The scholarship enables students to travel abroad to further their studies in either Sciences or Modern Foreign Languages.

The award was made on the basis of Loren’s desire to complete a research project: “Understanding Medical Care in Rural France”, specifically Serre Chevalier, an alpine area at the boarder between Italy and France.

Loren learnt about the essential basics of health care in France, but the main focus of her project was looking at the impact of the refugee crisis on different areas of the health care system.
