Junior School

Our Junior School is an exciting journey of discovery where girls are equipped with a brave ‘can do attitude’, a genuine love of learning and an excellent education – one fit for the future.

Confident Learners

With nurturing pastoral care, pupils quickly develop the independence, knowledge and skills to help them grow in all aspects of their lives.

Becoming confident and inquisitive learners, they build solid academic foundations and develop as positive, respectful members of our happy, school community.

Girls are encouraged to be ‘intrepid disruptors,’ learning from their mistakes and ‘digging deeper’ to solve problems and think for themselves.

Head's Welcome

I firmly believe that we must prepare our girls for the future whilst ensuring they find joy in the present. A childhood is only lived once and these years are critical for building the academic, emotional, and neurological foundations that support lifelong learning.

Our Modern Scholarship programme drives our academic vision, ensuring that we are not only teaching our girls foundational skills of reading and numeracy but allowing them to think critically, debate and develop oracy skills that will allow them to be confident in any setting, and have the ability to follow their own passions whatever they may be.

These passions are fostered by the breadth of experiences we offer outside of the classroom – in clubs, educational visits and trips through to our Forest School programme where pupils build confidence and resilience through hands-on exploration in nature, nurturing curiosity and independence from the earliest years.

Beyond academics, we know that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and happy. Our pastoral programme remains a central priority championing kindness, inclusivity and integrity.

Our school is a warm and vibrant community with every pupil at its heart. I hope that you will visit us to meet our exceptional pupils and staff and to experience a little of the mighty Putney Spirit for yourself.

Our Values

    • To place your daughter at the centre of all we do and deliver a high-quality, all-round education.
    • To foster a love of learning and encourage pupils to become enquiring, reflective, open-minded young people, prepared for the opportunities of the 21st Century.
    • For pupils to be happy and excited to come to school to see what each new day will bring. We create opportunities for them to be curious, to find their spark and celebrate their individuality, to explore new ideas and enjoy being engaged, stretched and challenged.
    • For pupils to grow into kind, thoughtful, and confident learners who embrace and relish every opportunity that comes their way.
