Co-curricular Life

Junior School

Whether it’s gardening, gymnastics or joining the School Council, every pupil is encouraged to find and pursue her passions.

Clubs

There are so many fun and unique activities to try, developing skills and interests which complement learning in the classroom and beyond. Our clubs nurture innovative and inquisitive thinkers, intrepid learners and foster inclusivity. With over 70 to try from coding to choir, there is a something for everyone.

Breakfast and after-school clubs are delivered by Munchkin Sports. Wraparound care runs from 7.30am before school and until 6pm after school, with breakfast and snacks included. Children are engaged in an exciting mix of activities including sports, team challenges and creative activities.

"Kind and considerate, they are proud of their individual achievements alongside their community contributions, and of their individual sporting prowess alongside their teamwork."

The Good Schools Guide

Leadership

Putney is a democratic environment where pupils engage confidently with their teachers and take on responsibility at the earliest opportunity.

Pupils learn that good leadership and teamwork go hand-in-hand. They are involved in decision-making and given roles of responsibility from Eco Ambassadors and Digital Leaders to School Council reps, Diversity Allies and Playtime Pals.

Other leadership positions include: Sports Leaders, House and Vice House Captains, Peer Mediators, Putney Playtime Pals, Lunch Monitors, Junior Travel Ambassadors and Eco Warriors.

Trips & Workshops

Trips to the Houses of Parliament, Shakespeare’s Globe and RHS Wisley are part of a rich and extensive programme of educational visits and trips designed to build experience, team and social skills.

Workshops help bring topics to life from Healthy Eating to Time Travelling to Maya Civilisations to Shakespeare’s Macbeth to spending, ‘a Day in a Victorian School’!
