Two of Putney's brightest athletic talents were in action at the London Schools Athletics Championships at Battersea Park last week.

Mabel-Rose Scales

Mabel-Rose in Year 9 was the top intermediate high jumper at the London Schools, taking gold with an impressive jump of 1.60 metres. This equalled the lifetime best she set in June 2019, an amazing achievement having recovered from a broken ankle which left her on crutches for six months.

This was her first time in action for 16 months and sees her qualify for the English Schools Athletics 2021 Championships in July.

She is now ranked third in the country.

Darcey O'Shea

Heptathlete, Darcey O’Shea (Year 11) won the intermediate girls’ long jump with a personal best of 5.26 metres, again taking the gold medal.

We wish her every success in the South East Combined Events Regional Final this weekend.
