Goldsmith’s Community Award – Regional Finalists

Community, In the Press, News, Partnerships, Pastoral, Senior School, Sixth Form

On Wednesday afternoon Ophelia M, Otelia G-D, Thea J and Florence G presented to a panel of judges as part of the Goldsmiths’ Community Awards Regional Finals. They shared information about the fabulous community and partnership projects that we run at Putney High School and answered questions about our future aspirations for the programme. The students spoke with confidence and passion, and we can’t wait to hear whether we will be selected to receive further funding for our outreach ideas.

We are planning to develop the programme in the following 4 key areas over coming months:

  • Expansion of the ‘Horizons’ Project for local Primary School children: we have planned a workshop focused on sustainability and the environment in the summer term
  • Expansion of the Wandsworth Schools Partnership: we are planning a ‘Festival of Sport Day’ for local Year 6 students in the summer term, with Year 7 and 12 students from Putney High School with activities ranging from lacrosse and ergo sessions to quidditch!
  • Further dedicated fundraising for local and global issues, including Ukraine
  • Further community and partnership work planned as part of this year’s Activities Week in June.
