GCSE Results 2020

Achievements, General, News, Senior School

Our Year 11 have had an enormous amount to contend with this year and have shown themselves to be a resilient and fearless cohort who we are sure will go on to achieve great things in their Sixth Form years.

As with A Levels, this year’s GCSE results have been based on either Centre Assessed Grades or on Calculated Grades using the Ofqual algorithm, depending on whichever was higher.

We have seen some fantastic performances across a whole range of subjects and are enormously proud of the whole year group. Grades awarded were as follows:

Grade 9              48.1%

Grade 9-8          72.2%

Grade 9-7          90.2%

Grade 9-6          97.6%

Grade 9-5         99.8%

Eight students achieved the maximum possible clean sweep of between 9 and 12 grades at the top grade 9.

Popular subjects which achieved a particularly high percentage of grades at the top 9-8 / A* grade include: Biology (76%) English Literature (75%) German (79%) Maths (72%) and Drama (97%).

Students of Ancient Greek achieved 100% 9-7 / A*A, as did those studying German, Italian, Mandarin, Latin, Drama, Geography, Music, PE, DT Resistant Materials and Religious Studies.
