A 2019 Putney survey revealed students’ reasons for starting their own business:
- to manage their own time and combine with other activities (47%)
- to support a social objective such as a CIC scored highly (42%)
- the desire for material wealth (35%)
The assembly also gave students the opportunity to showcase their own entrepreneurial endeavours.
Two Year 8 students, Isabella M and Isabelle G reported on their current business activities involving design and customisation and fashion and accessory resale. Sinead B, Year 12, talked about her business creating and uploading digital artworks and commissions via Instagram.
