There have been a flurry of successes for Putney debaters already this year.

Georgie M with Tabi S, (Y11) and Alice M with Phoebe B (Y10) took second and third in the finals of the London Middle Schools Debating Competition.

Alice and Phoebe also did very well together in the Durham University Debating Competition last weekend, winning one of their debates and coming second in two more. Alice debated solo in the International Competition for Young Debaters and made it through to the very prestigious final this May.

Isabella VdG and Sarah F, (Y9) Maddie L and Lara S (Y10) also debated and achieved a very creditable set of results.

PHS’s youngest debaters have been doing well too: in a recent friendly debate hosted by South Hampstead High School, two Year 8 teams won two out of their three debates. Congratulations to Isabella J, Eleanor C, Chelsea P, Ananya G, Sana M, Beatrice C, Anna J, Anna H and Sienna A!
