Cool to be Curious

Community, News, Senior School

Putney High School's latest collaboration with University of Roehampton was launched this morning - the successor to Cool to be Clever.

Research says that you increase your ability to learn and retain information when your curiosity is ignited.

With this in mind, Putney is continuing its Cool to be Clever collaboration with Roehampton University, with Cool to be Curious, a two year project aimed at raising the aspirations of local Year 5 pupils through the provision of creative, unique and inspiring workshops that will challenge their mindset and stretch their understanding until they leave primary school in Year 6. The project is particularly aimed at gifted and talented pupils who might be the first in their family to consider Higher Education.

Putney’s Year 10 will be involved in the programme as mentors to the younger children over the course of the project, looking at topics from Philosophy, STEM and the environment to Sports Science and Music.
