From studying History of Art at University to London College of Fashion via Parson's School of Design in New York, Camilla Elphick wowed us all today with the story of her rise to becoming the fashionistas' favourite shoe designer.

Today we learnt a little of what is involved in creating a best-selling shoe collection from award-winning British shoe designer, Camilla Elphick.

Camilla explained her journey from designing to internships, to the one year work placement at Donna Karan in New York that set her on her road to success.

It was Charlotte Olympia who helped her to produce the first two pairs of shoes for a graduate show at the London College of Fashion. One of which, the now infamous “Pez Shoe” was to lead to her first string of orders at London Fashion Week only four years ago.

“My father told me from an early age to always have polished shoes and nails, he said that it was the key to making a memorable first and lasting impression.”
