A number of keen Putney students recently competed in the 2019 (now 2020) Biology Challenge run by the Royal Society of Biology. The competition was open to year 9 and 10 students, consisting of two, twenty-five-minute multiple choice papers taken online under exam conditions.
The questions were based on the school curriculum, but also rewarded those students whose knowledge of the subject has been increased by reading books and magazines, watching natural history programmes, taking notice of the news media for items of biological interest, and are generally aware of the UK’s natural flora and fauna.
