Alumna Aicha McKenzie sets the bar high

Read in the Richmond and Twickenham Independent Schools Guide how Putney alumna, Aicha McKenzie is setting the bar high.

Choreographer “Aicha McKenzie enjoyed extraordinary success in her last year of Putney High School, winning three medals at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Canada, and becoming the first black British Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion.”

“The school encouraged me to go after your dreams, and my sports teacher, Maureen Hayes, made sure I had all the support I needed.”

Aicha went on to found her own successful choreography company, AMCK Dance and subsequently AMCK Management, becoming a leading figure in the fashion and dance industries.

“Suzie Longstaff, headmistress of Putney High, said, ‘Aicha is not only a pioneer in her field but also a great role model’.”
