Sixth Form Scholarships
All you need to know about applying for a Sixth Form Scholarship
Sixth Form scholarships are awarded on merit. They are available both to pupils already at the school and to incoming Year 12 students in a number of areas:
- Academic
- Drama
- Art
- Music
- Design: Product Design and Technology
- Design: Textiles
- Sport
There are two Elsa Maud Plant Academic Scholarships; one available to a Modern Linguist and one to a Scientist through Years 12 and 13. NB. These awards are available to current Putney High School pupils only.
Additional Information
- All students, both pupils already at the school and incoming Year 12s, are encouraged to apply.
- Students are encouraged to apply for more than one scholarship
- Students can be awarded more than one scholarship (although this is rare)
- Awards are typically around 5 per cent although they can be higher on occasion
- Where there were a number of outstanding candidates, we have awarded several scholarships in each of the Art, Design, Drama, Music and Sport categories
- In recent years, between 10 and 15 Academic Scholarships have been awarded

Applying for a Sixth Form Scholarship
External Applicants
- Please indicate your interest in applying for a sixth form scholarship on the 16+ application form.
- Once your application has been submitted, you will see a further phase via the admissions portal and requirement to complete a separate online scholarship form.
- Following the application deadline, we will invite some applicants to attend a 16+ interview (and, where applicable, scholarship assessment) in early November.

Key Dates
Application Deadline: Friday 4 October 2024 at 12 noon
Assessment Day: Friday 15 November 2024
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for Scholarship Assessments.
Please refer to the Sixth Form Scholarship Information Pack for details of scholarship assessments for each discipline.
Early December: Results will be emailed
For external applicants: the results of the assessments will be emailed at the same time as the 16+ results
