Fees

Our fees are set by the Girls’ Day School Trust. Please find below details of fees from September 2024. Please note the implementation of VAT from January 2025.

The government has announced that VAT at the rate of 20% will be added to independent school fees from 1 January 2025.

Junior
Autumn Term 2024: £6,865 per term
From Spring Term 2025: £7,688.80 per term, inclusive of VAT (£6,407 net)

Senior
Autumn Term 2024: £8,297 per term
From Spring Term 2025: £9,292.64 per term, inclusive of VAT (£7,744 net)

Fees are broadly inclusive of textbooks. Public examination fees are charged separately.

  • Payment of Fees

Fees can be paid monthly via direct debit or in termly instalments. This covers the curriculum, school books, stationery and other materials, external careers consultancy, choral music, games, but not optional extra subjects or school lunch.

    • Public examination fees are at extra cost and are charged separately in accordance with GDST policy.

Whenever possible, we will offer a term’s notice of the intention to increase the fees for tuition, lunch or extra subjects. However, if circumstances arise in which costs (e.g. substantial increases in teachers’ salaries) have to be recouped immediately, the Council of the Trust may be forced to increase fees at less than a term’s notice.

    Registration Fee

A non-refundable fee of £210 (£300 for overseas applications) is charged to process each student’s application. These fees are inclusive of VAT.

For families applying for a Bursary place, the Registration Fee may be waived upon receipt of payment of Income Support or Housing Benefit.

    Acceptance Deposit

When you accept a place at Putney, we ask for an acceptance deposit of £2,000 in order to accept and secure the place. This deposit is refunded after a pupil has left (after deducting any outstanding amounts due to the school or the Trust). This fee is not returned if a pupil is withdrawn after the place has been accepted.

    Sibling Discount

Parents with three or more children at the school at the same time will be eligible for a discount of 20% off fees for the third (and any subsequent) child. The discount will remain with the pupil until they leave the school.

  • Lunch is charged separately. The costs for 2024/25 are:

    • £292.67 per term (Reception and Years 1 and 2)
    • £346.33 per term (Years 3 – 11)

Lunch is compulsory for all pupils, from Reception to Year 11. This is charged separately on the fees account. Sixth Form students can purchase their lunch in the Sixth Form Diner.

  • Co-curricular activities are an integral part of every Putney student’s education. With well over 100 co-curricular clubs on offer before school, after school, at break and lunch times every week, there is plenty of offer.

Your daughter will be encouraged to make new friends and learn new skills in clubs ranging from arts, sports and music to Gardening and Engineering Clubs, Medical Society, Mathletes and Scrabble.

    • £46.33 per term (Reception to Year 11)
    • no fee for Sixth Form
  • Tuition is available in voice (Senior School only), piano, harp, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, recorder, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, violin, viola, cello, double bass and drum kit.

The fees for instrumental and vocal tuition are set by our specialist visiting teachers. Accounts for tuition will be sent direct by the teachers concerned.

  • We believe that no one should be excluded from a Putney education. Our Senior School admissions process is means blind and Senior School students are offered places based on their potential.

Part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), at Putney almost one in five pupils receives a bursary or scholarship to help towards her fees. Just ask for more information on how the school can help.
