Why Girls & GDST
Where girls learn without limits
The Girls’ Day School Trust
We are proud to be one of the 25 Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) schools that together, are leading the way in girls’ education.
With our sister schools and academies across England and Wales, we form an exclusive community where girls can join nearly 70,000 women in the GDST Alumnae Network.
We all share the same ethos and a proud heritage. Our students outperform their peers in public exams and leave having benefited from an exceptional and truly broad education.
Why Girls?
At Putney, although we enjoy a lot of activities with our partner boys’ schools, in our day to day lives we place girls at the heart of everything we do. We design our curriculum, the shape of our day, our pastoral and co-curricular programmes to meet their needs.
In a single sex environment, girls are liberated to be their true selves, whomsoever they want to be – unfettered by gender expectation and without any limits placed on their aspirations or achievements by unhelpful stereotypes.
At Putney, girls are free from any sense that the script has been written for them. They are offered a wealth of choice, both in terms of subjects and the many academic extension opportunities we offer.
“The GDST is a wonderful force for good in today’s world – they bring out these confident young women, prepared for the world, feet on the ground and eyes on the stars”
