A Level Chemists Attend Science Live

On 11 November, A Level Chemistry students attended lectures at the Science Live: A-Level event based in The Savoy Theatre. One of the most interesting lectures that the students attended was based on developments in Nanotechnology by Dr Suze Kundu.

Dr Peter Wothers, from Cambridge, celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table and spoke about the eminent Prof Peter Atkins, Oxford Don and author of many an undergraduate’s Physics and Chemistry textbooks.

Prof Lucy Carpenter asked whether Air Pollution was ‘Worth’ fixing and the surprising benefits of simply opening a window. The ever thought provoking Prof Andrea Sella addressed the history of the development and use of Nerve Agents: in Chemists’ Dirty Secret.
