A total of 33 German students ranging from Year 9 to Year 11 boarded a two hour flight to explore the festive delights of Vienna last weekend.

Although it was very cold, there were Christmas lights flooding the streets with holiday music and lots to eat and drink around the Christmas market stalls.

Students had the chance to visit Stephan’s Cathedral and Schloss Schoenbrunn, an Austrian Imperial family’s former home. They also got to view the Schloss Belvedere Art collection and see The Kiss by artist Gustav Klimt – a definite highlight.

The most exciting part of the trip was ice skating in front of the town hall and the Prater amusement park’s Giant Ferris Wheel.
