PE is my favourite lesson. You get lots of fresh air and you learn teamwork and responsibilities."
Year 6 Pupil

Sport plays a strong part in Junior School life. Girls have three PE lessons each week, mainly taught by specialist PE teachers. For the younger girls, the aim is to develop co-ordination, balance and ball skills. As they get older they are introduced to netball, tennis, rounders and athletics. Swimming is taught from Year 1 upwards and Mini-Tennis, Dance and Gymnastics from Reception.

Beyond the PE curriculum, girls have the chance to participate in extension activities which are designed to be as inclusive as possible.

Girls from Year 3 upwards can also try for places in school teams and take part in fixtures and tournaments against other London schools, as well as in the GDST netball, cross country and swimming rallies. The PE department strives to give every Year 5 and 6 girl who would like to play sport competitively, the opportunity to compete either against other schools, or in Inter-House competitions.
